Services:

Registration of Land Title Documents

This includes Deeds of Conveyance, Mortgages, Powers of Attorney, Agreements, Charges, Debentures, Deed Polls, Probate and Grants and Instruments under the Real Property Ordinance e.g. Transfers, Mortgages, Leases, Caveats, Death of Proprietors.

Cost/Fee: Varies depending on type of document


Registration of Bills of Sale

Cost/Fee: Varies between $20.00 - $60.00 depending on the value of the consideration


Registration of Credit Unions, Friendly Societies, Agricultural Co-operatives- Charges

Requirements:

  1. Document prepared and signed by an Attorney-at-Law.
  2. Payment of Stamp Duty and/or Land Assurance at Board of Inland Revenue.

Cost/Fee: Cost varies depending on the value of the consideration


Application for Land (Bringing Land under the Real Property Ordinance)

Process:

  1. Completed Application registered at Land Registry cost varies between $100.00 and $150.00 depending on value of property.
  2. The Notice of Application (if approved by Chamber Court Judge) is prepared and given to the applicant to advertise.
  3. A Certificate of Title issued after stipulated time if no Caveat lodged. Cost: $25.00 and land assurance based on value of property i.e. 5 cents for every $10.00.
  4. If Caveat lodged, step 3 is stayed until matter determined by Court or Caveat lapses.

Issue of Certified Copies of All Records (Land Title Documents under Common and RPO Law)

The applicant is required to submit the relevant Deed number or, in the case of Real Property Ordinance, the volume and folio number of Instrument.

This service is also provided at Jerningham Street, Scarborough, Tobago.

Cost/Fee: $2.00 per page and $5.00 to certify the document.


Issue of Land - Return of Ownership under the Real Property Ordinance

A written request must be lodged at the Land Registry P.O.S. and Tobago.

Documents required:

  1. Volume and folio number and Certificate Title.
  2. Last receipt showing payment of Land and Building Tax

Issue of Land - Certificate of Title for Land under the Real Property Ordinance

Relevant Information: Submit informal request to Land Registry

Cost/Fee: $25.00


Receipt and Processing of Land Replacement of Lost Title Certificates

Submit application. After application is approved, advertise in newspaper. Submit declaration of due advertisement and extracts from newspaper showing same.

Required Document:

Declaration from registered proprietor/s.

Cost/Fee: $25.00 to make application and $25.00 for new Certificate
