What you should know...
1. Early Registration
Register the birth at the District Registrar
nearest to where your baby was born.
It is FREE up to three (3) months after the birth of the
baby. Now you can register your baby right at the
hospital.
All you need to register your baby are:
• Hospital record/card
• Your personal Identification (ID card, Passport.
Driver's permit)
Who can register the birth?
• Either parent can, if both are married to each other
• Both parents must, if they are not married to each
other
• Legal guardian
• A person present at the birth
Remember registration is FREE (for three
months after birth)
2. Late Registration
After three months you can still register
the birth.
This is known as late registration and it is not free.
Fees for late registration are:
• $20 at the District Registrar
• $50 at the Warden's Office
3. Registration After One Year
Even after a year, you can still register the birth. By
then you will need to provide:
• Hospital record/card or affidavits from parent/responsible
adult
• Immunization card
• Baptismal certificate (if any)
Cost for registering after one year is:
• $25 at the District Registrar
• $75 at the Warden's Office
Birth Certificates
To apply for a Birth Certificate, please provide:
• Date of Birth (DOB)
• Place of Birth
• Mother's Married and Maiden Names
• Valid ID
Cost of Certificates
• FREE - one (1) free new form certificate for
children born after 1984 (issued same day of your
application)
• $25 - for old form certificates (issued within five
(5) working days)
