What is Intellectual Property?
It is the expressed creations of the mind. e.g. Books,
art, logos, shapes, images and inventions.
It is divided into two categories:
- Industrial Property, which includes inventions (patents),
trademarks, industrial designs, geographical indications,
plant varieties, lay-out designs of integrated circuits
and
- Copyright, which includes computer software; literary
and artistic works such as books, poems and plays,
choreographic works, films, musical works, artistic
works such as works of mas, drawings, paintings, photographs
and sculptures, and architectural designs. There are rights related to copyright which consists of rights in performances, sound recordings and broadcasts.

Innovators, Authors & Creators,
Intellectual Property Rights Allow:
- exclusive control;
- for a specific period of time.

Where can I apply for Intellectual Property protection?
At The Intellectual Property Office, Ministry
of Legal Affairs. This office was established
specifically to grant Intellectual Property Rights.
