MESSAGE
FROM THE MINISTER
To the Ministry of Legal Affairs (MLA), these words
take on a profound and heartwarming meaning. Given the
Ministry's influence at virtually every stage of lives
of the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago, these words
bring to the fore the passion and commitment that drives
all six divisions of the Ministry of Legal Affairs.
The issues that affect you are also issues that affect
us.
It is with the overarching goal of positively impacting
the lives of our citizens that the Ministry and its
divisions have accepted the challenge of transforming
the Ministry into a modern, customer-focused and quality
driven Government entity.
In keeping with Government's 2020 Vision, the Ministry
of Legal Affairs remains committed to Vision 2020 and
to the attainment of the Government's goals and objectives
as set forth therein. Government's ambitious agenda
for Trinidad and Tobago to attain first world status
is embodied in the directions being taken by the Ministry
of Legal Affairs. Technological advances within the
Ministry as well as on-going adjustments and developments
at the various divisions are evidence of our commitment
to ensure a Ministry that is indeed Vision 2020 compliant.
What we at the Ministry of Legal Affairs do today,
will have significant implications and benefits for
the people of Trinidad and Tobago for many years to
come-in fact throughout their lifetime. So as we commit
to incorporating innovation, diversity, creativity and
service in our dealings with you the national community,
the Ministry of Legal Affairs is poised, and dedicated
to positively impact lives - your lives.

FROM THE PERMANENT SECRETARY
The Ministry of Legal Affairs plays a very essential
role in the overall social and economic development
of Trinidad and Tobago. In fact, the portfolio of this
Ministry affects all residents in a very tangible way
"from birth to death" literally.
The Ministry therefore, has been strategically upgrading
our systems in an effort to simplify business processes
and at the same time operate more effectively and efficiently
in providing quality service to all our publics.
We have completed our website, which provides easy
access to information on the Ministry, services and
functions. In addition to progress in our computerization
programme, staff has undergone technical and customer
service training. I must recognize the contributions
of our internal public
- our dedicated members of staff who work hard and long
hours to ensure that the public receives the best possible
service.
As we continue to upgrade our services and facilities,
the Ministry is committed to fulfilling its mandate
to provide quality service to our various publics. We
will keep you informed of our progress and help you
to benefit from utilizing the services of the Ministry.
