BIOGRAPHY OF MINISTER PETER TAYLOR

It was Peter Ferdinand Drucker that espoused that effective leadership is not about making speeches or being admired; leadership is defined by results not attributes. If results are the mark of a true leader the Minister Taylor is leadership epitomized.

In his short stint as Minister of Legal Affairs, Minister Taylor, in conjunction with the Ministry of Social Development and the Poultry Association of Trinidad and Tobago, has launched the E- Pak, a custom designed pack of chicken for the participants of the TTCard programme, established a working Committee with the mandate to forge the framework for viability of the Poultry Industry of Trinidad and Tobago, whilst addressing consumer’s needs for affordable, wholesome chicken. He has laid a Revised Green Paper on Consumer Protection in Parliament which marks a key step in enhancing the legislative framework for consumer protection in this country. He has also piloted and defended the Copyright (Amendment) Bill which will be instrumental in the prosecution of those who infringe on copyrighted material.

The Honourable Peter Taylor is the Minister of Legal Affairs with responsibility for the Law Revision Commission, the Legal Aid and Advisory Authority, the Registrar General’s Department, the Rent Assessment Board, the Intellectual Property Office, the Consumer Affairs Division, and the Weights and Measures Inspectorate.
